EARTHQUAKE, the filly Christian Reith likened to multiple Group 1 winner Guelph, has begun her campaign aimed at the Blue Diamond, reports Racing Network.

The Peter Snowden-trained filly had a two week break after her sizzling win at Randwick on November 9 where she defeated subsequent Magic Millions Clockwise Classic winner Sheer Style. Snowden said he would probably send Earthquake to Melbourne in mid-January where she is likely to trial and then have one or two starts before the $1 million Blue Diamond at Caulfield on February 22.

“I’m not sure whether she will run in the (Blue Diamond) Preview or have one or two runs before the Diamond,” Snowden said.

Sportsbet.com.au has installed Earthquake the $3.50 favourite for the Diamond.

Snowden said Guelph, a winner of the Flight Stakes and Thousand Guineas during her dominant spring campaign, is back in work.

He said Guelph had been at Darley’s Agnes Banks complex for a week and had returned in sparkling condition.

“She looks fantastic, I couldn’t be happier with her,” Snowden said. Guelph, a winner of seven of her 11 starts, will do all her autumn racing in Sydney.
