DEAN Yendall’s bid to win the national jockey’s premiership has copped a crushing blow with a suspension for careless riding at Flemington.

Racing Victoria stewards suspended Yendall for 10 meetings following his ride on Profit Share in the Taj Rossi Series Final.

Yendall pleaded guilty to the charge. The suspension begins at midnight on Monday and he’s able to resume riding on July 25.

It makes it virtually impossible for Yendall to topple Greg Ryan or Brad Rawiller who are locked in the engrossing duel for national honours.

Ryan currently leads with 150 winners, two more than Brad Rawiller who rode a double at Flemington today.

Yendall sits third on 143 winners.
