JOCKEY-room go-to man Tim Clark has picked up the ride on Border Rebel, which is out to go back-to-back in the Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford today, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
It says: The feature has attracted 15 runners and the Gai Waterhouse-trained Squamosa dominates betting after returning with a blistering win in the June Stakes at Randwick. Border Rebel won an action-packed Takeover Target last year under trainer Sue Grills's apprentice Tim Bell. The race was marred by a two-horse fall that included Skytrain, which is back for another crack.
''It certainly is a quality race and Border Rebel has to contend with topweight of 58.5 kilograms,'' said the Hong Kong-bound Clark. ''He'll probably get conditions to suit, a wet track, he is definitely better suited with give in the ground.''
