Earlier this season, Hey Elvis was a narrow second at Group 2 level in the AJC Villiers (1600m) at Randwick. That run was preceded by another close second in the Listed Recognition Stakes (1600m) at Eagle Farm.
The second leg of the double was recorded at Randwick by dominant front running stayer Mr Clangtastic. The Clarry Conners prepared gelding cleared out to win by a massive 8.3 lengths over the 2400m journey in Class record time. Mr Clangtastic has now won 6 races from 30 starts, his last two runs netting back to back Sydney Saturday victories. Purchased as a yearling out of the Magic Millions sales ring for just $10,000, Mr Clangtastic has already earned connections an impressive $219,000.
