Boom Victorian filly Lumosty has gained a run in Saturday’s $2 million Stradbroke Handicap at Doomben in Brisbane.

The scratching of fellow Victorian Lord Of The Sky has paved the way for the Robert Smerdon-trained three-year-old to take her place in the field.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock, who has been a clear favourite for the 1350m event for more than a week despite not being assured of a run, was left as first emergency when the final field was declared on Wednesday.

She will start from barrier 12 under 50.5kg with Singapore-based lightweight rider Corey Brown to take the ride.

Robbie Laing elected to scratch Lord Of The Sky after he pulled a plate on the road trip north. Laing had been forced to float Lord Of The Sky north after he could not be loaded on the plane on Thursday night.
