Trainer Tony Gollan moved a step closer to 100 winners for the season when he trained a trifecta at Eagle Farm.

Premier trainer Tony Gollan moved a step closer to achieving a personal goal when he had the trifecta in the Proav Solution Plate at Eagle Farm.

Shalwa ($2.50) beat Cailini ($9) by a half head with Vienna Power ($3.40) 1-1/4 lengths back third to give Gollan the fourth metropolitan trifecta of his career.

Gollan is well on his way to winning his seventh straight Queensland metropolitan premiership and has also set himself a goal of 100 winners in the city for the season.

He estimates he will need to average about 10 winners a month out of carnival time to reach the goal.

Shalwa's win brought Gollan's metropolitan win total to 28-1/2 and well on line for the goal.

Gollan was in Sydney on Saturday but stable foreman Craig Cavanough said the stable had been firing and it was a credit to trainer to find the right races for his horses.
