Trainer Shane Nichols has reverted to a sprinting campaign with Tahitian Dancer and a trip to Brisbane is now on the cards after an impressive Ballarat win.

Tahitian Dancer is Queensland bound for richer summer carnival races after her impressive victory at Ballarat.

Coming from a rearwards position on the turn in Saturday's The Haymarket Ballarat Mares (1200m), Tahitian Dancer stormed down the outside to score by two lengths.

Trainer Shane Nichols has picked out one of two stakes in Brisbane for the mare ahead of the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares at the Gold Coast on January 11.

"She was pretty dominant today, settled back and really let rip," Nichols said.

"We did step her out to a mile in the past, but we'll keep her to sprint races from now on.

"She'll go to Brisbane now, there's two stakes races pre-Christmas and then if she's going well she can run in the 1300-metre mares Magic Millions race."

Nichols said Tahitian Dancer had little luck finishing seventh at Flemington on November 9 which followed an impressive Seymour victory in October.

He said Saturday's track was in perfect order for the mare.

"She likes a bit of give in the track. I walked it earlier and it was in pretty good order, so she'll come through that really well and we can progress from here," Nichols said.

"She's been placed in stakes races but now we want to get a black-type win to add to her value."
