The Tony McEvoy-trained Sunlight has been confirmed for the $14 million Everest and will run for Max Whitby's group.

Star filly Sunlight is a confirmed runner in the $14 million Everest for a group headed by Max Whitby.

Trained by Tony McEvoy, Sunlight has won three Group One races this season, starting with the Coolmore Stud Stakes over the Flemington straight course in November.

During the autumn the three-year-old beat older horses to win the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington and William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley.

She was a gallant third behind Santa Ana Lane and Osborne Bulls in the TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick on April 6 over 1200m, the same course and distance as The Everest on October 19.

Whitby's partners in the slot are Neil Werrett, Steve McCann and Colin Madden.

Sunlight is the fourth horse confirmed for this year's Everest with Santa Ana Lane to race for the TAB, Pierata for Aquis Farm and Classique Legend for his owner Boniface Ho who bought the slot auctioned by Greg Ingham's GPI Racing.
