Star filly Mystic Journey's comeback has been delayed with trainer Adam Trinder pulling the pin on the Bletchingly Stakes because of forecast rain.

Cox Plate favourite Mystic Journey's comeback to racing has been put on hold because of the weather.

The filly had been entered for Saturday's Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield but with rain in Melbourne and more forecast, trainer Adam Trinder says she will not run.

Mystic Journey will instead have a barrier trial at home in Tasmania and run in the P B Lawrence Stakes on August 17.

The winner of the Australian Guineas and All Star Mile, Mystic Journey is the TAB's $4.50 favourite in its early market for the Cox Plate on October 26.
