Champion jockey Damien Oliver has been suspended for 12 meetings for careless riding stemming from his ride on Exospheric in the Group One Australian Cup.

Oliver rode Exospheric to a third placing in Saturday's Australian Cup at Flemington but was suspended after pleading guilty to careless riding for shifting in at the 150m mark of the Group One race, causing Tally to be checked.
Oliver's 12-meeting ban starts after Monday's Moonee Valley meeting and he will miss next Saturday.
Next Saturday is Golden Slipper day in Sydney while next Saturday's Melbourne meeting features the Group Two Blamey Stakes.
