Jockey Chad Lever has been injured after falling from his mount Anticipate during a Maiden Plate at Scone.

Jockey Chad Lever will be taken to hospital for assessment after a race fall at Scone.

Racing NSW steward, Damien Carr, said Lever fell approaching the home turn on Anticipate in a maiden race on Tuesday.

Carr said Lever's injuries, which included a gash above an eye and pain in a leg, were not as serious as first thought but he would be airlifted to most likely John Hunter Hospital at Newcastle.
