Richard Callander has been appointed chief executive of the NSW Trainers' Association, the body responsible for representing trainers across the state.

The NSW Trainers' Association has announced the appointment of Richard Callander as its chief executive.

NSWTA chairman Richard Pegum confirmed the news on Thursday and said Callander would be responsible for driving the organisation's vision to deliver better conditions for trainers state-wide

Callander has held various roles in the racing industry, including as a presenter on defunct broadcaster TVN.

The NSWTA is the peak body representing the interests of all trainers across the state with leading Sydney horseman Chris Waller among its board members.
