Jockey Bobby El-Issa has won his appeal against a four-month ban on a handling charge.

Jockey Bobby El-Issa has had a four-month suspension for his handling of a horse in a country race overturned on appeal.

El-Issa received the hefty penalty after Racing NSW stewards determined he had not given the Ron Quinton-trained Soul Testa every chance to win or obtain the best possible place in a race at Goulburn on March 17.

Stewards cited several occasions when El-Issa could have taken different options aboard Soul Testa who finished sixth.

The Racing NSW Appeal Panel heard El-Issa's case on June 13 and on Wednesday released its decision to uphold his appeal by a 2-1 majority.
