Ipswich racecourse is shaped like a slightly deflated beach ball. It has a circumference of 1746 meters, and a relatively short straight of 300 meters. Races are run between the distances of 1000 and 2500m in an anti-clockwise direction. Around 46 races are hosted throughout the year with the highlight being the Ipswich Cup, run over 2150m in mid-June. And the HR Solutions Ladies Charity Race Day February 7. The Ipswich racecourse has an abundance of multi-purpose function rooms. These include: The ground floor Trackside Lounge, adjacent to the mounting yard and in line with the finishing post. The first floor Eyeliner Lounge, overlooking the straight and comfortably seating and serving up to 200 guests. The Jibboom Lounge, on the ground floor, can again seat and serve up to 200 guests. The Lotus Foote Room is an outdoor courtyard area protected from the sun by sails; it caters for between 30 and 100 guests. Grandstand viewing, club memberships and corporate boxes are available upon request.
