The Gold Coast racetrack is an 1885 meter unequal rectangle with a finishing straight of 400 meters. Races are run over distances between 900 and 3200 meters. Popular Gold Coast racecourse events include the Magic Millions Carnival - a thoroughbred racehorse auction with racing such as the Magic Millions Classic for 2 year olds run over 1400m, in January; the Prime Minister’s Cup – a Group 2 race over 1300m; and A. D. Hollingdale Stakes - ,a Group 2 weight-for-age run over 1800m - both run in early May.
The Gold Coast Turf Club offers racegoers a choice of 5 restaurants and 5 for-hire function rooms. Among them are: The Skyline Restaurant, on the first floor of the grandstand, overlooking the final straight and offering 4 course d’hote menu. The Boardroom, on level 2 of the grandstand – with sweeping views of the finishing straight and Surfers Paradise skyline: An event venue offering fine dining for parties between 100 and 180 seated guests (250 if reserved for cocktail function).
