The triangular Wagga Wagga race track is 2200 meters in circumference, with a 400 meter finishing straight. The Wagga Gold Cup Carnival begins on the first Friday in May, with the Wagga Gold Cup run as the premier event. Other notable races held at the Wagga Racecourse include: The Town Plate Day (held one day before the Cup Carnival), Caulfield and Melbourne Cup days, plus Easter and Christmas Eve. The Murrumbidgee Turf Club offers racegoers a deluxe carvery and buffet menu and two formal menus for functions and conferences. Private and corporate trackside garden marquees are available throughout the year upon application. The Member’s Lounge is on the first floor overlooking the racecourse and gardens. The ground floor Champagne Bar caters for 300 – 450 trackside. And the previously public Green Ridge Room is a conference space seating between 30 and 60 people. Corporate and general membership are handled through the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
