One of Queensland’s premier provincial racecourses, the Toowoomba squashed-oval shaped track is 1750 meters in circumference with a finishing straight of 360 meters. The smooth synthetic cushion track allows for night racing every Saturday evening. Races take place clockwise throughout the year. Major racing events include: The Toowoomba Cup, an open handicap over 2100m. And the Weetwood Handicap, an open handicap over 1200m in April. The Toowoomba Racecourse boasts an abundance of dining and function options, Including: The Grand Marquee, a ground floor fine dining and entertainment area seating up to 400 beside the finishing straight; it contains gas heating in winter, tote and bar facilities. The Darello Deck, overlooking the saddling yard and track, seats up to 100 with full bar and tote facilities. And the Winning Post Enclosure, a roofed out door area (enclosed with clear plastic sheeting) on the ground floor, seating between 20 and 100 guests. Full membership brings with it reciprocal rights to 8 other South East Queensland Racecourses.
