The Seymour keyhole shaped course is 1800 meters in circumference with a 380 meter finishing straight. The sandy loam soil allows for good drainage and allows racing on the grass track in all weather. Races between 1000m and 3800m are run anti-clockwise throughout the year, with an average of 20 races held per season. Races below 1300m only have to negotiate one turn. Featured Seymour races include: the Seymour Cup, a listed open handicap raced over 1600m in October. And the Darley Seymour Cup, a listed open handicap, raced over 1600m in October during the Melbourne Spring Carnival. The club has recently upgraded its amenities and now offers first-rate conference and function areas. These include: The Bar Lundy Room, A large multi-purpose function room on the first floor overlooking the finishing straight. The Winning Post Room, smaller first floor room overlooking the finishing post. And the Bar Landy Restaurant, overlooking the racecourse and able to entertain groups of up to 120. Corporate and general memberships are available through the club.
