Belmont Park Racecourse is a keyhole shaped track of 1699 meters circumference, with a 333 meter finishing straight. It has the reputation of being one of the best wet weather tracks in the world because of its extensive track drainage system and fully enclosed guest seating area. Races take place anti-clockwise. Notable races throughout the year include: The Roma Cup, an open weight-for-age handicap over 1200m in May/ June. The Hyperion Stakes, a 3 year old and over weight-for-age run over 1600m in June. And the Strickland Stakes, a 3 year old and over weight-for-age over 2000m, also in June. Belmont Park has several first class restaurants: The Terrace Buffet (shared with Ascot Racecourse) offers three course buffet menu. Platter Orders for takeaway picnic foods and snacks. And the Members Reserve Tables, on level 2 of the grandstand, has tiered tables overlooking the straight, and full table service.
