RANDWICK could deliver a track on the better side of Slow for Saturday's Warwick Stakes meeting if the forecast holds true. Track manager Nevesh Ramdhani rated the track today as a Heavy 8, but noted the forecast between now and Saturday’s Warwick Stakes meeting is promising.

Ramdhani said only one to five millimetres of rain is forecast leading up to Saturday.

“There is a good, firm base to the track. If we don’t get any further serious rain the track could be on the better side of Slow,” Ramdhani said.

“It would be a great result if we get there.”

Ramdhani said Randwick had not received anywhere near the rain of other locations with 77.2 millimetres registered since last Saturday.

He said there had been only eight millimetres of rain at Randwick in the past 24 hours and no rain since 6pm last night.

“The bottom line is that if we get further rain we can handle it, but if the rain stays away, I’m confident the track will improve.” (Racing Network)
